Not like the originals
These are "new" little critter books and don't have any imagination. Punctuation mistakes and no creativity... Nothing like the original books. The only thing going for them are the illustrations, which have a lot going on, so my kid likes looking at them.
Not original books
I loved the Little Critter books as a child, and now that I have my own child, have been trying to collect some for him to enjoy. I ordered this set thinking it was a great deal, but unfortunately am disappointed. This is probably my fault for not reading the description, but these books are nothing like the ones I had as a child, or ones I had bought for my son previously. The pictures are weird and the stories lack the charm of the originals. We haven’t read them again, and would have returned them but I didn’t think it would be worth it to get back a few bucks.
Horrid messages
Pure rubbish. My children liked these as children so I purchased this for my granddaughter. I discarded the entire set the same day. Such negative messages. Save your money. These are not the type of message I want to be reading to our little one

Not the same as the older ones
I saw some of the negative reviews about these books being different from the earlier ones but decided to buy it anyway since it was a great deal. I mean how much different could the stories be? Man was I wrong. These stories are indeed very different from earlier ones. Not sure why. Seems to be the sale author. But these newer ones definitely lack imagination, are poorly written and do indeed present bad messages about anger and losing your temper. I should have believed the negative reviews. If you are buying these because you used to have the older ones, be warned that these are not the same as the older ones. Don’t make the same mistake I did.
Great book series
Great book series and cheaper to buy the box set then individual one. Plus box set has handle and Velcro flap to keep close but easily open. Recieved on time as well

Great price for five books and they are all wonderful! My son (6) and myself have enjoyed every single book. You won’t regret this purchase. We have even given it as a gift!
Engaging to a young growing mind
This is a great collection. My children loved Little Critter so I purchased this set for my grandson shortly after he turned 1 and he loves them. We have added several Little Critter books to his collection and we read 2 or 3 of them daily. He knows them by title and Little Critter is always his first choice. I highly recommended them if you want your child or grandchild to take an interest in reading. The stories and illustrations are engaging.
Nothing like the original Little Critter.
Stick with the original Little Critter set from Mercer Mayer. These books are ok in terms of story line for kids bedtime but if you know the original ones from the author, those are much better. The price value of the set is absolutely a great deal however. So if you don’t care much about the story line and jokes or lessons of Little Critter, these books are good.
Perfect gift to friends with toddler kids.
One of the best toddler book series. We have bought two sets as birthday gifts to friends, in addition to our 3 year old. The bedtime stories are just right length and they are in small booklets.
